Fun baking recipes for kids

In today’s time, the whole world is going through a period of calamitous change, which has been caused by the deadly virus called COVID 19. Children during these times have to go through a lot of mental and physical challenges because of staying continuously at home without having much activity for themselves.

 In order to remove their boredom and monotonous environment and inculcate some fun-filled activity which would involve their creativity and broaden the skill set, here are 3 fun-filled recipes which will enhance their culinary skills.

DORA CAKES

Ingredients:

  1. One cup wheat flour
  2. Half a  cup powdered sugar
  3. Half teaspoon baking powder
  4. One teaspoon of honey
  5. One cup of milk
  6. Nutella or melted chocolate

METHOD

Mix wheat flour and powdered sugar in a strainer and sieve them. Once done mix honey, baking powder and slowly add milk in it. If the batter is thick then you can add more milk to make a  smooth paste.  On a gas stove heat a pan. Once it is warm, put oil and spread it evenly with the help of tissues. Pour one full serving spoon of the batter on the pan and cover it for 2 minutes. After two minute turn it to the other side to cook it evenly. 

Like this, make other cakes also. Once done let it cool done and after cooling you can spread Nutella or melted chocolate in between two Dora cakes.

MINI CAKES

 Ingredients: 

  1. Chocolate biscuits
  2. Lukewarm milk
  3. Gems or dry fruits

METHOD

Churn biscuits in a grinder to make a smooth powder. Take it out in a bowl and slowly mix lukewarm milk to make a smooth consistency. Grease appam stands with ghee and pour adequate quantity and cover it.  Put the gas stove on low flame mode and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. No need to turn it to the other side. To garnish you can use dry fruits or gems.

BREAD PIZZA

Ingredients:

  1. White bread
  2. Cheese
  3. Tomato sauce
  4.  Capsicum, carrot (toppings of your choice)
  5. Fresh herbs like oregano and chili flakes

METHOD

On a bread slice apply some tomato sauce, grated cheese, toppings of your choice, and then sprinkle herbs on it. Preheat the oven or microwave at 180 degrees and put the bread slices inside the OTG or microwave for 5 minutes. When the cheese starts melting take it out and enjoy this easy recipe with your kids.

With these easy baking recipes, the kids will enjoy the process and would take pride in sharing the dishes prepared by them.
