Nitin Mukerji With qualifications from AIIMS in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Sheffield Hallam University, Nitin has established a distinguished career in neurosurgery. Currently serving as a Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in cerebrovascular and skull base surgeries at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust, Nitin also holds the esteemed position of Editor-in-chief at the British Journal of Neurosurgery and serves as an Expert Witness.

Nitin’s achievements underscore their expertise and dedication to the field, with a remarkable track record including 71 publications and 80 presentations worldwide. With experience spanning over 4000 operations, including intricate brain bypass surgeries, Nitin has garnered recognition for their contributions to medicine. Notable accolades include the New Zealand High Commissioner’s Prize for Community Medicine, the North of England Neurological Association Magnum Award for the best case presentation, and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust Prize for Biochemistry. 

Reflecting on their formative years at Modern School, Nitin emphasises the invaluable lessons learned, particularly in resilience and self-paced learning. He states, “At Modern, I learnt the importance of a setback and how to cope with it and learn from it, this has helped me all along. I was given the freedom to study at my own pace and as per my own abilities, in times when such things were unheard of.”
