Modern Model United Nations

Modern Model United Nations, also known as MMUN, was an extracurricular activity held on July 14-15, 2023 in which students from grades 6th to 12th role-played as the delegates, the journalists to the United Nations and the simulated UN committees and the chairperson responsible for managing the Committee meetings so that they operate smoothly.

The event comprised Lok Sabha and United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) conferences, each tailored to different grade levels. In Lok Sabha, students in grades 6-8 engaged in discussions on the adoption of green technologies in India and strategies for sustainable development, while those in grades 9-12 explored the theme of maintaining democratic integrity during the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing insights from the 1975 emergency.

For the UNGA sessions, students in grades 6-8 addressed the pressing issue of cyber warfare, while their counterparts in grades 9-12 tackled the complex topic of global nuclear disarmament in light of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Overseeing the proceedings were esteemed faculty members, including Principal Ma’am, Manisha Ma’am, Abhay Sir, and Harshvardhan Sir. Participants represented their chosen countries and political parties, fostering diverse perspectives and lively debates.
