VMWC CELEBRATES GRANDPARENTS’ DAY

Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.”   – Alex Haley

It was a very special day for the grandparents, students and teachers as the school celebrated Grandparents’ Day on 27th August. This celebration was indeed an opportunity to interact with an age group that is most often, overlooked but VMWC  community recognizes and values the imperative role that the Grandparents play in the life of every child.

The event started with children clad in traditional attire welcoming the guests with tilak  and greeting them with ‘Namaste’,  this was followed by lighting of the lamp  and school prayer.  This day is celebrated every year to honour the Chairman of our school , Justice D.K.Trivedi as August 27, 2016 is his birthday; this year too, the tradition was followed with great fervor. Ms. Meena Kane, our Principal, spoke about the value and importance of grandparents in a family.

. Tiny –tots in colourful attires were exited to perform before their grandparents. Dance performances by the children were followed by interesting games like anthkshari for the grandparents and it was amazing to see their spirit and enthusiasm to participate.

An overjoyed grandparent Dr.Manjula Sharma said,” I feel proud to see my grandchild Ekansh perform on stage. This is the 1st time that I am attending such a program. It is a nice feeling to see his school inculcating such values in him.”
