Rakhi Making Workshop

Life should not only be lived, it must be celebrated - Osho

Our country is a land of many festivals and celebrations. RAKSHABANDHAN is one such festival where we celebrate the beautiful bond shared by brothers and sisters. This beautiful festival of love and affection must be celebrated with our kids so that they are aware of our country’s rich cultural heritage and it’s traditions.

However , as we are under the threat of this pandemic it was not possible to celebrate ‘Raksha Bandhan’ in the way we used to celebrate earlier. Covid-19 has completely transformed our lifestyle and the way we celebrate.

Although, we were not able to celebrate like we did last year or in a usual way but we still made it special as always. Keeping the feeling of love and affection alive we at Modern School conducted a ‘Rakhi making workshop’ for our kids.

The Purpose

The entire purpose of this workshop was to enhance the creative skills of our students, so that they could appreciate the aesthetics of the festival. The students were able to make some beautiful rakhis themselves with the items that were easily available at our homes. Anything handmade adds a value which a readymade thing can never do no matter how expensive that is.

We also emphasised on the fact of staying at home during the pandemic therefore encouraged the students and their parents to use home-made rakhis and try not to buy outside sweets.

All in all, the workshop was a success with our parents and students , who later on shared the pictures of the beautiful rakhis made by the children.
