Investiture Ceremony 2018

On Saturday 21st of July 2018, Vidyatree Modern World College held its annual investiture ceremony. Parents and guardians of the to-be in-charges and captains filled up our school’s auditorium. For today was the day, newly elected badge holders were to be sworn in. It marked the day of complete revamp of the school’s student council and kicked off a year of responsibility, perseverance but above all learning for the students as observed amongst the speeches of the retiring badge holders that they learned a lot about being a leader from their experience working as one and they all thanked their school for providing them with such an opportunity and having faith in them. Collectively, the previous badge holders did a remarkable job of organizing the event, even on the last day of their job, they made sure to leave a lasting impression and something for the new badge-holders to look up to. The event kicked off to the sound of drum beats, when the former-house captains passed the house flags to the new captains, in a sense, they passed on all their responsibilities. Our principal sir, Mr. Prasenjit Chakraborty addressed the parents and explained just what the investiture ceremony means to VMWC and how a year of working as an in-charge will help them develop core management skills. The event moved forward with all the elected in-charges being allotted their badges, one could notice a sense of nervousness in their fervor but not of fear or hesitance, they were ready, they wanted to cherish this opportunity and ensure they live up-to their expectations and consequently pass on their responsibilities to the next generation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from our coordinator Saroj Ma’am.
