The Annual Art Show provides a platform to the creative geniuses of our school, and at the same time gives an opportunity to the students to give back to society.
Vidyatree Modern World College (previously The Modern School) organised its annual Art Show and Fundraiser at the college campus, on 11 February, 2018, starting at 10 am.
The guests to the event were awestruck with the creativity and genius of the young artists of the school, praising the skill and imagination of the students and the school’s Visual Arts Program.
Mr. Prasenjit Chakraborty, the school Principal, informed that by mid-day more than 80 thousand rupees had already been raised by sale of 24 paintings. He also informed that, as is the tradition, 1/3rd of the money obtained from the sale of each painting shall be given to the student artists, to promote and encourage them. The Annual Art Show provides a platform to the student artists to showcase their work and also give back to society.
The constructivist and inquiry based pedagogy of the school ensures stress free and creative environment which allows the students to develop capacities for life, including the creativity to express. Visual Arts is an essential part of the school curriculum which helps develop expression, thinking, creativity and motor skills right from Grade Nursery to Grade XII. Vidyatree Modern is the only IB (International Baccalaureate) World School in Lucknow.
The event was organised in association with Lucknow Tigers Round Table 207, a charitable non-profit, in aid and support of Sarthak Foundation, which works to educate underprivileged children by setting up classes in villages and slums.
This is the third edition of the Annual Exhibition with 102 paintings on display. The paintings depicted an array of ideas, right from classic portraits of gods and goddesses, to colourful landscapes of nature, to modern colourful abstracts. The exhibition had it all.
