To keep our children happy and fit, Modern School started virtual dance classes along with their online academic classes from 23rd March 2020. The main reason behind these classes was to engage students productively. These classes are conducted for the overall development of the children during the pandemic and keeping them healthy and fit.

Dance, the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, enacting a concept, or simply taking delight in the movement itself. Therefore dancers are not just performing artists; their bodies are also the instruments through which the art is created. The quality of this art, therefore, necessarily depends on the physical qualities and skills that dancers possess. The stronger and more flexible a dancer’s body, the more capable it is of a wide range of movement. Nearly all professional dancers start training at a young age in order to shape and develop their bodies correctly. Strength is built up in the right muscles, for example, and the bone-connecting ligaments on which flexibility of the joints is so dependent are lengthened early before they begin to harden.

Dance is also considered to be a medium of expressing one’s emotions and feelings. It keeps us agile and alert. It is also considered to be a great stress buster. Dancing also helps you have a clear head and enhances your work efficiency.

Our dance classes start right from grade Nursery to grade 8. Different grades are taught different dance styles like Zumba, tap dancing, Rumba , funk, break etc.

The children love learning different dancing styles and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Every week they look forward to their dance period.
