Buddha Poornima was celebrated in the schoolon4thMay2015. FounderofVMWC, learned Zen Meditation practitioner and disciple of Neo-Buddhist Shree J. Krisnamoorthy , Shree Rakesh Kapoor conducted a meditation session with the students and teachers. He also enlightened the audience with aims and principles of meditation. He emphasised on unanimity of body, mind and soul while practising meditation. It was an illuminating session.

Coming up as one of the house events, a debate competition was also organised on the occasion of

Buddha Poornima. The topic of the debate was ‘Excellence is not possible without stress’. Students were very enthusiastic about the debate as the topic dealt with one of the mission statements of the school. Besides sharing interesting examples and defending their part, the students had a good sense of presentation and attitude. Where the participants understood the gravity of the topic, the students sitting as an audience, also exhibited silence and heard the point of view of each participant. The judge for the event Ms. Meena Kane, principal, VMWC, appreciated everyone and encouraged the students

by giving her valuable suggestions to almost each participant. She even discussed one of the shlokas from the sacred book Gita which was spoken by one of the participant. The competition concluded with a good motive where Socrates and Vivekanand stood first, speaking against the motion and Socrates again bagging the first position, speaking for the motion!
