Dear Teacher,

“Baccalaureate” a French term meaning ‘Pre-University’ wherein the curriculum is designed by a group of leading educators from different countries with the focus to prepare students to enter and successfully pursue programs offered by premier university of the world.

During the course of year, as a parent, we have seen the inculcation of “attributes” in the learners with the expectation of displaying their traits.

IB curriculum:

• Is a comprehensive program with inter relatedness between subjects and concepts.
• It has a ability to relate classrooms learning with real life situations and apply in
• Conducts research into knowledge
• Develops a deep understanding of important and enduring concepts
• It engages in structured, purposeful inquiry. Thus helping learners to construct their own learning and understanding.

I, as a parent, what I like about IB is, it develops independent thinking, yet appreciating that people with different views could also be right, and that the international mindedness is getting exposed to other world languages, cultures and practices, yet remain rooted in one’s own.

To conclude, I would re-iterate myself –

“My child is here to make his/her own choices

Exercises his/her freewill and experience the consequences.”

“My task is to allow him/her to ponder

And see my child grow into a wonder.”
