The Annual Prize Day

The 13th of August is the day we celebrated The Annual Prize Day. The program commenced with the arrival of our esteemed chief guest Hon. Justice D. K. Trivedi (Retd.), Former Senior Judge of UP High Court at Lucknow; who also happens to be the Chairman of The Modern School Advisory Council. Along with him, our school’s founder, Mr. Rakesh Kapoor presided over the event.

The program was in its full spirit when the students participated into various activities like choreography and other various colorful events.

The event began with lighting of lamp by the chief guest and a welcome speech from the man who started it all, our Founder, Mr. Rakesh Kapoor.

This was followed by a dance show by primary section students on the song ‘Desh Rangila’.
The main event of the day, the Prize distribution commenced.

The students of The Modern have always performed excellently in the ISC & ICSE Board Examinations. Academic year 2008-09 was no exception to the fact. Taking the glorious tradition forward, 10 students scored above 90% (aggregate) in the ISC; and 11 students in the ICSE examinations. The success story doesn’t end here. Seven of our students have also got through the most esteemed engineering institutions in the country.
An Award for Excellence in Bio-Technology, ‘Dr. Nityanand Award’ was awarded to three of the students.
To make the parents proud, the meritorious students were awarded in the company of their parents.
Priyanshi, an alumni, dressed in school uniform, said,” It feels like it was only yesterday that I passed out of school. Today I decided to wear my uniform. I feel proud to be a Modernite. I feel smart wearing my uniform.”
To remind us of the great freedom fighters and their devotion towards our nation, a choreographed dance was performed by a group of students, on ‘Rang de basanti’.

The variety entertainment included awarding the ICSE students with Mark sheets and Pass Certificates.
Mr. & Mrs. Rastogi, proud parents of Pranjal Rastogi said, “It gives us a sense of pride and honor by accompanying our son.”
The Retd. Hon. Justice D.K.Trivedi thanked and commended the pupils for such a wonderful performance. He also thanked the teaching staff for their hard work in preparing the students.

Proud father of Sankalp said, “ I’m happy that my child has won an award. I hope he does well in his ISC result also.”
Lastly, Meena Ma’am thanked the parents for motivating the children by being present at the function and being such nurturing parents. The program ended with a loud applaud.
